Welcome to my counselling practice
Professional Counselling Online UK wide and in person in Stockport & Cheadle
You don’t have to carry everything on your own
Life can feel heavy when you are trying to manage anxiety, grief, low mood, relationship difficulties, disability, stress, or a sense that something in you has become stuck.
You might be used to coping. You might be the person who keeps going, supports others, and tries not to make too much fuss. But carrying everything alone can become exhausting.
Counselling offers you a space to pause, breathe, and talk honestly about what is happening for you. A space where you do not have to perform, minimise your feelings, or have everything neatly worked out before you begin.
I’m Craig Johnson, a qualified therapeutic counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP. I offer warm, collaborative counselling for adults, both online and in person.
My aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported as we make sense of what you are experiencing together.
As a qualified Integrative Counsellor, I offer a safe, judgement-free space where we can talk openly about whatever's troubling you. Together, we can explore difficult feelings and understand what's affecting your life today, helping you make sense of why you think and act as you do.
I won't give advice or try to fix your problems - instead, we'll discover ways for you to handle challenging thoughts and emotions more easily.
I consider it a true privilege to support people on their healing journeys, and it would be my honour to walk alongside you as you find greater clarity, self-understanding, and compassion on your path to growth.
People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.

How counselling can help
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low, lonely, or uncertain about the future. You may be grieving a loss, struggling with self-worth, navigating relationship difficulties, or trying to understand patterns that keep repeating in your life.
You do not need to be in crisis to seek counselling. Sometimes therapy begins with a simple sense that things cannot continue as they are.
Together, we can explore what is troubling you at a pace that feels right. Counselling can help you understand yourself more deeply, make sense of painful experiences, and begin to find new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Counselling
Counselling offers a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, counselling can provide the support you need. By talking through your experiences with a trained professional, you can gain new insights, develop healthier coping strategies, and build greater resilience for the future.
The process is not about being told what to do, but about being listened to with empathy and without judgement. Together, we can work towards a deeper understanding of yourself and your circumstances, helping you move forward in a way that feels right for you. Many people find counselling a valuable step in improving their wellbeing, enhancing self-confidence, and fostering positive change in their lives.

Face to Face
For many people, being in the same room as their counsellor feels important—it allows for shared presence, deeper connection, and the comfort of a safe space.
I offer face-to-face counselling right in the heart of Stockport. The practice provides a calm and welcoming environment where you can hopefully feel relaxed and at ease during our sessions.

Online
Support, wherever you are
Online counselling makes therapy more accessible than ever. Whether you live outside the local area, find it difficult to travel, or have a busy schedule, it allows you to connect with support in a way that fits your life.
Sessions are held securely online, so you can access the same quality of counselling as in-person, but from the comfort of your own home or office. I offer online counselling to anyone living in the UK.

Let's Chat
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting — and that’s completely okay. You don’t need to have the “right words” or even know exactly what you’re looking for. Sometimes, it simply starts with a conversation.
If you’re curious about how counselling might help, or you’d just like to ask a few questions, I’d love to hear from you. There’s no pressure, no obligation — just a safe, friendly space to talk things through.
